This. Has. Been. A. Long. Time. Coming.
First, I thought it should be a cooking blog. Then I wanted to incorporate everything I was discovering on nutrition and health. But, I also wanted to throw in some yoga, some Buddhist philosophies, maybe an Etsy store (what the hell is an Etsy store?). Then, people close to me were mentioning that I should blog about my daily rants on current events, pop culture, and life in general. Whaaat?? My head is spinning, and we won’t even begin to discuss the technology issues (or my basic lack of patience with anything requiring a plug and an on/off switch).
And yet, here we are. I have decided to chill about the mechanics of the whole thing and do what I love the most……write.
Life in an RV. Who knew that I would love it as much as I do? It makes life much simpler in terms of “stuff” (remember the George Carlin bit on stuff?). I love not having to pack to travel to our next destination….all our “stuff” is in one place. I sleep in my own bed, on my own yummy, high thread count sheets without having to worry about whose body fluids are remaining on the duvet (What? You never saw those investigative reports of hotel rooms using a black light? UGH! Foul and disgusting….and tell me please how those glowing droplets got that far UP THE WALL??. Who does that? Or should I be asking: who’s able to do that?) We are loving our RV adventure and it is giving me a chance to work on my next cookbook and my very first fiction novel (stay tuned!).
Here is a great recipe for a warm, comforting, yet sophisticated tomato soup. The greatest part is that you can switch up the ingredients to suit your tastes or what is in your fridge/pantry.
I personally think the flavors are so deep and delicious that the soup stands on its own. Enjoy…and finish that bottle of wine!
